Personal Care provides assistance with self-care tasks, mobility and activities of daily living that you may be unable to manage on your own due to illness, disability or frailty.
Our qualified Support Workers will assist you to manage these everyday activities in a safe and supportive manner.
Tasks that our Support Workers can assist you with during Personal Care:
Self-Care
- Bathing and showering
- Dressing and undressing
- Shaving, hair care and grooming
- Cleaning teeth
- Toileting and use of continence aids
Mobility
- Getting in and out of bed
- Sitting, standing and walking
- Transfer to commode, wheelchair, chair or vehicle
Medication
- Monitoring self-medication
Shopping
- Assisted shopping (take you out to buy groceries and pay bills)
Nutrition
- Cooking and food preparation
- Eating and drinking
Other Activities of Daily Living
- Hearing aids and communication devices (client specific training required)
- Attendance at medical and other appointments
- Accompanying you to community activities
Building your confidence and capacity for community access by assisting you to:
- Use public or subsidised transport
- Use volunteer support
- Connect or reconnect with community and cultural groups
